Food & Pub Crawl: A New Way to Indulge Into Your Craving

It’s Friday night, and it’s time to party! So, are you ready to get that swag on? Well, you may have heard a lot about bar hopping, but the Food & Pub Crawl gives a diverse version of it. What’s this new craze all about?

Last Wednesday, I was browsing through my twitter account, and I saw an article regarding the Food & Pub Crawl. The said article features Erwan Heussaff’s food and pub experiences; he shares his favorite resto/pubs and some of the must-try bistro in the district of Makati. This journey ad of Erwan is part of the “Make It Happen, Make It Makati” campaign. Some of the resto bars mentioned are Blind Pig, Murphy’s, XO46, Bar M, and Cerveseria.

Knowing various restaurants in the business capital of the country is a result of Erwan being born and raised in Makati. In the online article with a video ad attached in it, he mentions his food experiences in other countries like Paris and New York. Those experiences boil down to a new food adventure--- the Food & Pub Crawl. He wants people to explore their horizons when it comes to food and drinks.  So, what exactly is this madness all about?

Food & Pub Crawl pertains to going from one resto to another. As opposed to bar hopping, it’s not only about partying and drinking from one bar to another, but rather, it’s more of savoring the food and drinks offered in a resto. It also means enjoying the company of friends and having a good conversation with them. Most of all, it’s about feeling the vibe of the resto and enjoying its ambiance.

Doing this new fad seems strange for some. However, it may also appear exciting to others. Well, whatever your stand is, I’m sure trying it with your closest friends won’t do any harm.  As a gentle reminder for those who want to try this new craze, just enjoy every bit of moment while in a bistro. Moreover, eat and drink only a portion of the food and drinks served. It is best if you have company in this adventure for you to have partners in crime in eating and drinking. Don’t order too much because you’re still going into another bistro. Just have a little of every foodstuff you order in a resto. At the end of the day, you’ll get satisfied with the variety of food you’ve experienced.

Certainly, Food & Pub Crawl is a new way to indulge into your craving. It may be weird for some to be eating from one resto to another, but trying it won’t hurt you. Just charge it to experience. Nobody knows… It might make your day. So go on, try the Food & Pub Crawl with your buddies out there! Have a good Friday night! Enjoy your weekends! :)

Autumn 2012 Fashion Trend: Details & Ornaments

Passion for fashion keeps the fashion capitals of the world alive for years. Whatever the season is, the fashion trends in the fashion capitals never fail to impress the world. So what's the fashion verdict this autumn 2012?! Let's start discovering this season's fashion frenzy!

Metro Mag's September 2012 issue features the trends in the five fashion capitals of the world--- Paris, London, New York, Milan and Manila. Based on my reading and research from Metro Mag, FashionTelegraph, Fabsugar and StyleBiblePh, I've come up with a summary of the fashion highlights for each fashion city.

PARIS
This season, Paris' fashion highlights are metallics and silhouette; these swings are featured in Alexander McQueen and Lanvin's line. In addition, volume and texture are also predominant for this winter.

LONDON
The apparent trend in London focuses on brocade and florals. This style creates a certain visual effect for the Brits. In terms of color, three are in for this while; these are lavender, red and army green. It may seem hard to mix and match these colors, but you can always try. If you really find it hard to combine the three, then you can always pick a predominant color and just have the remaining colors the color of your accessories. Other notable must-wear this time of the year are leather trousers, rolled-neck tops and hats.

NEW YORK
What's the madness this winter for the Yankees? Well well... Say welcome to prints and textures for a more lady-like look. This theme brings confidence and strength to the New Yorkers. When it comes to color, red and military green are in. This is similar to the color trend in London except that lavender is not much of a focus in New York. Furthermore, the style  you need to try to be in like a Yankee is the geek/preppy look. As have been said, geek is chic again, so put your glasses on and have a preppy layer.

MILAN
Ciao fashionistas! There's a mini clash between flamboyance and restraint for this season in Italy. Cavalli's line manifests fashion love for extrovert designs while Veneta's collection shows restraint through designs which have touch of depth and introspectiveness. On the other hand, black and white pattern never seems to fade; monochrome is in for the Italians this autumn. Leopard, silver and gothic styles are also a  mania for this time of the year. Last but not the least is fur. Oh, the cold season is starting!

MANILA
Mabuhay Philippines! Grandeur and classic-end are the primary themes for this holiday season. Yeah, sort of heavy themes, but the details of the design for the different collections this season pretty much portray the motifs... In line with this is the laid back style, not being too much over the top. As to specific clothing, biker-inspired jackets are very much sought-after for this cold season of the year.

Indeed, the fashion capitals of the world always surprise the people on what's in for the season. As for the bottom-line of this year's autumn/winter season, it's all about details and ornaments. Whatever the color or style of an outfit is, no doubt that details and ornaments are becoming more and more of a focus.

Weekend At The Farm

A warm escape from the stressful and fast-paced city, The Farm at San Benito lies at the heart of Lipa City, Batangas.  This haven is just two hours away from the Manila area. Being an award-winning lavish wellness sanctuary, it offers a lot of relaxing and rejuvenating activities; some of these activities are undergoing healing services thru yoga, having a spa treatment, food tripping, and playing golf. The Farm caters yoga and spa treatment with detox as the main feature.  The serenity of the place adds drama to these activities. In terms of food, healthy succulent dishes are being served. These healthy food are being prepared The Farm way. For example, a salad would include an unusual veggie not commonly found on a Caesar's salad, the hamburger would be made of veggie patty, or raw foodstuffs being served fresh from The Farm. Indeed, the food in The Farm is very much fit for the heart. On the other hand, for the on-the-go people, playing golf and swimming are on the list. The earthly picturesque adds coziness to these activities. Moreover, there's a gym for the health conscious people who want to stay active indoors. With all of these fun and revitalizing adventures, no doubt, a weekend is a must-spend in this eco-friendly refuge.

It's A Fresh Start

Everyday has been boring and lifeless the past few weeks. My world seemed colorless and no direction. I didn't know where to go. I didn't know what to do... Until a self-realization hit me...

Lately, I've been watching a bunch of reality TV shows on E, Velvet, Lifestyle Network and ETC, and most of them depict the life of successful and famous people. These TV shows display how the wealthy people live and enjoy their lives. However, that is not the best part. What strikes me more is that they didn't become prosperous by just sitting all day and doing nothing. Instead, they've worked their ass out in whatever their endeavors are. They've worked passionately and persistently. As a result, they've become successful. That's why they have a reason to enjoy their lives because of their hard work.

In addition to watching reality shows, I've been fond of reading premiere magazines in the country for a couple of weeks already. My lunchtime has become my "Me Time"; this has been the time for me to free myself from the hustle and bustle of work. Part of this moment with myself, aside from cherishing every bite of my food, is reading magazines. Same as with the successful people in the TV shows, people featured in the magazines have worked hard to be wherever they are right now.

Well, after weeks and weeks of being exposed to the reality of seizing success, I've come to realize that becoming depressed won't do anything good to me. That I should be thankful of my work even if it's not exactly what I want... I also realized that I cannot do things exactly as what I want them to be or as I've planned them. However, I can adjust to reality and somehow customize my wants... Bridge the gap between reality and ideals...

Indeed, hard work is necessary for one's success; nevertheless, passion for one's endeavor is as important. Moreover, no matter what trials come, even if reality is the problem, one must never stop achieving his or her aspirations in life. It is a person's aspirations that determine his or her direction in life. That's why it's necessary to have the eagerness to succeed.

As for me, it's a fresh start of attaining my goals... A start to fix all the broken lines... A start to forget the problem of the world... A start to move forward... Yes, indeed, it's time! It's a fresh start, and I'm ready! :)
